In addition to varicose veins that are clearly visible from the outside, there are often deeper varicose veins that are not visible from the outside, which must also be treated in order to achieve a lasting result.

An individual treatment plan will be drawn up for you based on the findings of the ultrasound examination. Vascular surgeon Dr. med. Al-Jundi will recommend the most suitable method for you, e.g. RFA or sclerotherapy, and give you a precise overview of the surgical procedure and the costs for your individual treatment. In addition, you will of course receive all the necessary information and tips in advance to make the procedure as comfortable as possible for you - for example, the recommendation to get a good night's sleep before the procedure.

Yes, it is not uncommon for patients who have their varicose veins treated to also want to have smaller spider veins treated at the same time. Every medical procedure naturally has certain risks, but these can be minimized with the right method. The risks associated with RFA treatment and sclerotherapy of varicose veins are significantly lower than with surgical procedures in which the varicose veins are removed using incisions. With such surgical procedures, there are increased risks such as more pain, a higher risk of bruising and permanent scars. The risk of damage to blood vessels or surrounding tissue is of course also lower with the gentle RFA method and sclerotherapy than with classic surgical procedures, as no incisions are made. Nevertheless, an experienced surgeon should always be chosen who handles the probe and ultrasound very carefully and cautiously.

Dr. Said Al-Jundi attaches great importance to ensuring that you feel safe and in good hands. In rare cases, slight discomfort such as numbness may occur. Classic surgical risks such as infection risks or anaesthesia risks can of course never be ruled out 100%, but can be minimized with the right experience, a thoroughly sterile and aseptic technique and a detailed check-up by our anaesthetist before the procedure. If you experience slight discomfort after the procedure (e.g. slight redness or a feeling of pressure), you can use an ice pack, ibuprofen or an over-the-counter painkiller. A slight tingling sensation is normal and indicates that the vein treatment is working and the body is breaking down the vein from the inside. In general, both RFA treatment and sclerotherapy are considered much safer than traditional surgical methods, they are effective and do not require hospitalization. The recovery time is usually only a few hours!
