Breast­ surgery

In principle, the surgery can be performed on all healthy patients of almost all ages. Breast augmentation is suitable for women whose breasts are subjectively too small. The typical patient therefore comes to us when the breast is subjectively too small or the soft tissue mantle is subjectively too empty. Asymmetries, malformations or sagging breasts require additional measures. If possible, however, the surgery should not be performed in the first 6 months after pregnancy and breastfeeding and under no circumstances on underage patients. If there are pre-existing conditions, the indication must be discussed individually with the doctor.

A distinction is made between the positioning of the implants, i.e. on the musculature of the chest wall under the fascia of the chest wall, under the pectoral muscle or under all localised trunk muscles (often called the inner bra). Which technique is used depends on the patient's physical findings. There are also different surgical approaches. At our clinic, the implants are usually inserted via a small incision in the underbust crease or endoscopically and video-assisted via the armpit. At our private clinic, however, we only perform bloodless surgical techniques using special radiofrequency instruments, which is why we generally do not use drains for breast augmentations.

In contrast to a textile bra, all techniques with strong implant fixation (often referred to as an internal bra) do not fix and support the breast, but only the implant. The mammary gland itself is not fixed in any way more than with other techniques and this can become a problem if the breast gland exceeds a certain volume and then slips downwards over the implant due to gravity. The indication for simultaneous tightening must therefore be made earlier with this surgical technique. This is precisely why a procedure without strong implant fixation with an optimal ratio of implant stability to breast stability and aesthetics can be favoured.

As the surgery times for pure breast augmentations are very short (approx. 30 - 40 minutes), they do not necessarily have to be performed under a general anaesthetic. Our clinic does not generally perform intubation anaesthesia for breast augmentation. We only use anaesthesia with a so-called laryngeal mask or twilight sleep anaesthesia with local anaesthetic. In suitable cases, nitrous oxide sedation with local anaesthesia is also possible. We are the first private clinic in Germany to perform breast augmentations using nitrous oxide sedation with local anaesthesia and have had very good experiences with this method to date. However, the basic prerequisite is that the patient is mentally suitable for this procedure, as patients are largely conscious and generally responsive during nitrous oxide sedation. Breast augmentation can be performed on an outpatient basis without any problems. Nowadays, only a few patients opt for an inpatient stay, which in this case is one night.

• Bloodless breast augmentation (no drains): 35,000–45,000 AED
• Breast lift with small to moderate reduction: 28,000–35,000 AED
• Breast lift with implants: 48,000 AED
• Implant change (starting from): 25,000 AED

As the surgery is virtually bloodless, our clinic does not use drains for breast augmentations or breast augmentations with lifting. In rare cases, haematomas may occur, depending on the individual's tendency to develop them. However, most patients have little or no visible bruising. After the surgery, only a sports bra and occasionally a so-called Stuttgart belt are worn. The sports bra should be worn for 5 - 6 weeks, the Stuttgart belt for 5 - 7 days. There are no special bandages.
